SINGAPORE — On Wednesday (21 June), a 58-year-old man tragically lost his life when he was struck by a Traffic Police motorcycle near Hougang Avenue 3.

The police received an alert at approximately 5:30 pm regarding the accident that occurred at the junction of Hougang Avenue 3 and Kim Chuan Road.

According to photos circulating on Facebook, a man dressed in red was found lying on the grass in the middle of the road, while a fallen Traffic Police electric scooter and an officer were situated nearby on the road shoulder.

Initially unconscious, the pedestrian was later pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

Upon receiving the incident report, the Singapore Civil Defence Force promptly dispatched two ambulances to the scene, conveying two individuals to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The 31-year-old police officer involved in the accident remained conscious and was also taken to the hospital for medical attention.

At present, the police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
