【国会】王瑞杰称仍持续研究何时调消费税 不能无限期搁置

王瑞杰表示,将会持续观望及研究何时调高消费税,但不能永久延迟消费税上涨。 副总理兼经济政策统筹部长及财政部长王瑞杰今日(15日)在总结部长声明辩论时,虽然他今年2月曾宣布明年的消费税仍维持在7巴仙,但他重申,政府仍然需要调高消费税,以维持医疗和学前教育方面的需求。 “政府将持续研究和观望调高消费税的时间,同时也会纳入各种因素包括我国经济复苏、收入前景以及可以延后部分开支,而不危害我国长期的需求。” 今年2月,王瑞杰宣布,鉴于新加坡受到疫情的冲击,经济大受打击,因此原定在2021年提高9巴仙的消费税,将维持在7巴仙。 他表示,受到旅游业的重挫和阻断措施的影响,我国今年消费税的收入预料将比年头估计的低14巴仙。 “我们预计,在国际旅行恢复前,消费税收入将会持续偏低,甚至几年。” 他也保证,政府将致力于帮助国人持续管理消费税税率,例如推出总值60亿元的定心与援助配套(Assurance Package for GST),帮助国人应付消费税上调。 他也回应有关非选区议员梁文辉无限期搁置消费税的问题,指出有逾六成的净消费税是来自于居住在我国的外国籍人士、旅客,以及我国前20巴仙高收入家庭。
