SELANGOR, MALAYSIA — A disturbing hit-and-run incident, caught on camera and shared through a private Facebook account “Bandar Baru Bangi Komuniti,” has sparked a police investigation after the video went viral on social media platforms.

At a press briefing held at 5 pm yesterday, Superintendent Mat Ghani Lateh, the Deputy Chief of Nilai District Police, revealed that the Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Division of the Nilai District Police Headquarters had launched a preliminary investigation into the incident.

The probe confirmed that the unfortunate incident occurred at around 7.15 am, two days prior, on the North-South Highway.

The incident involved a motorcyclist traveling in the left lane, who was hit from behind by a Proton Persona car.

The collision caused the motorcyclist to lose control and subsequently crash into a Perodua Ativa.

What’s even more distressing is that the driver of the Proton Persona, rather than stopping to assist, chose to flee the scene, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind.

The victim of the hit-and-run suffered minor injuries to his hands and legs and was promptly transported to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban for medical treatment.

Superintendent Mat Ghani called on individuals who shared the video on social media to assist with the ongoing investigation by reaching out to Polis Daerah Nilai.

He emphasized the importance of public cooperation in helping to bring the guilty party to justice.
