Singapore People’s Party (SPP) candidate for Potong Pasir SMC Jose Raymond took to his Facebook on Thursday (25 June), calling for people to support his campaign website.

Mr Raymond, who is also the SPP’s chairman, said that the residents of Potong Pasir who wish to make an appeal or even sign up as volunteer can send in their request directly through the said website.

Besides that, collectors of election-related merchandise can also make purchases via the online shop that is featured on the website.

The merchandise and collectables that are available on the online shop include limited edition Jose Raymond clay figurine (S$90), set of five SPP’s mini flags (S$12), battery operated Potong Pasir Jose Raymond mini-fan (S$20), and Potong Pasir scarf with SPP logo (S$10) – all included delivery fees.

“Purchase an item and support our needy residents in Potong Pasir. All monies collected will be used to help residents in Potong Pasir who need help and support in times of need,” the website read.

In his post, Mr Raymond also appealed for more donations, saying, “If you wish to make a donation, you can also send your donation through PayNow at 91478040 or through POSB Savings 084690473.”

The Party has sent five candidates to contest in the upcoming General Election.

Mr Raymond will be contesting at Potong Pasir SMC, while four other candidates – Vice-Chairman Williiamson Lee, Secretary-General Steve Chia, as well as party members Khan Osman Sulaiman and Melvyn Chiu – will be contesting at Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

Netizens express: Tharman for prime minister, not president – A wasted potential?

Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam has announced his intention to contest in the 2023 Presidential Election and resignation from the People’s Action Party (PAP) and political appointments, a decision sparking widespread online discussion.
