It’s been a thrilling start to September for the Chinese telecommunications giant, Huawei this year as it scooped up top awards at the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics, the Internationale Funkausstellung 2018 in Berlin, Germany last weekend.

Following the global launch of their Kirin 980, Huawei AI Cube, Locator and the P20’s new colours, Huawei has been recognised on the international technology stage for their new products. The Kirin 980 chipset alone received 7 awards for its combination of high performance and energy efficiency that delivers a significant leap forward from the Kirin 970. Also, the Huawei AI Cube was recognised for its multi-functionality as an AI-powered speaker and 4G router.

The 13 awards reflect Huawei’s ongoing drive to bring intelligent, powerful and efficient high-end consumer devices right to the hands of the public to support an already fully connected lifestyle.

The awards that Huawei has received for the Kirin 980 include ‘Best of IFA 2018’ from Android Authority, Digital Trends, Expert Reviews, Android Headlines, GadgetMatch, and TechSport. Digital Trend also gave the Kirin 980 an ‘Editor’s Choice’ accolade while T3 presented Huawei with an ‘Innovation Award’.

The Huawei AI Cube received ‘Best of IFA 2018’ from Gear Diary and Talk Android while TechRadar awarded it with the ‘Best Smart Speaker’ award. Also, GadgetMatch picked the Huawei Locater and Huawei P20 leather variant as a ‘Best of IFA 2018’ as well, bringing the tally up to 13.

At IFA 2018, Huawei was also presented with an award from the European Image and Sound Association (EISA). The HUAWEI P20 Pro was named ‘EISA Best Smartphone 2018 – 2019’ in recognition of Huawei’s commitment to quality, design and performance, as well as the company’s long track record of introducing stylish and powerful devices.
