SINGAPORE —  A 59-year-old man is suspected of murdering his male co-tenant in their shared apartment at around 10 am on Friday (17 March) at Redhill Close in Bukit Merah.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore Police Force received a report at 10:50am on Friday.

Upon arrival at the scene, the Police discovered a 61-year-old man lying on the floor inside the unit with multiple wounds and had already lost consciousness.

Police said the victim was later pronounced dead by medical personnel. The 59-year-old suspect was arrested on the spot.

The suspect will be charged under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code on 18 March.

If convicted of murder, the suspect could face the death penalty. Police investigations are ongoing.
