A bus caught fire at the junction of Portsdown Road and one-north Gateway earlier this morning (24 Feb).

According to CNA, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it responded to the fire at about 9.15am.

The blaze was put out using one water jet and one person was assessed by an SCDF paramedic at the scene, it added.

CNA reported that an eye-witness claimed that no passengers were seen on board at the time of the inferno.

Several images shared by Reddit users show thick smoke from the bus, followed by its charred state after the flames were doused.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
