Trinity Christian Centre on Wednesday (19 February) issued a notice saying that a mother of two children at Raffles House Preschool, Paya Lebar has been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus (Covid-19).
The online notice was circulated to inform the Trinity’s member about the infected case which has been confirmed by Ministry of Health (MOH).
Trinity said that the infected mother had last visited the Raffles House Preschool on 12 Feb, but did not display any symptoms.
The two children who last attended preschool on 17 Feb are well and currently under 14-day Home Quarantine Order, said the senior pastor of Trinity church, Dominic Yeo, while adding that both the parent and children do not attend Trinity.
According to Yahoo News Singapore, a message was allegedly sent by Raffles House on Wednesday morning stated that the infected mother had briefly stepped into the reception area to pass an item and left the school at around 4pm on 12 Feb.
The message read, “The two children were observed to be well when they were at the centre on 17 February and are well at home. We are maintaining close contact with the family and checking on the health of the two children.”
It was noted that the preschool will remain open and the temperature checking of the children and staff will conduct thrice daily.
In the message, the preschool management also encouraged students to stay at home if feeling unwell while they will provide parents with updated situation.
“We assure all parents that we will continue to put in place measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of all children and staff. We look forward for your continued support and we wish the affected family well and will provide every support and guidance during this period,” stated in a message read by Yahoo News Singapore.
Following the confirmation of infected case, the preschool and its common area has also been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on the same day as notice was issued.
The notice also stated that the preschool weekend service such as DiscoveryLand and Nursery will run as usual with enhanced monitoring, cleaning, and disinfection measures.
“On your part, do exercise social responsibility by maintaining good personal hygiene. If you are unwell, see a doctor immediately, stay at home and join our weekend services via Facebook Live,” it added.
MOH has confirmed and verified three additional cases of Covid-19 infection on 19 Feb, bringing the total number of infected cases in Singapore to 84.
At the same time, Covid-19’s death toll hits 2,112 on Thursday (20 Feb) with more than 74,500 confirmed infected cases across the world.
