Chief Executive of Land Transport Authority Chew Men Leong has announced his resignation saying that he was leaving for a personal career development in the private sector, in just less than two years after he served the position.

Mr Chew, 48, did not mention where he was heading for, while some speculation spread that he might join the Singapore Technologies fold.

LTA board member, Ngien Hoon Ping will replace Mr Chew’s post at the authority. Mr Ngien is also a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr Chew took the position in October 2014. He previously worked at the Public Utilities Board (PUB).
