More than twenty members from different opposition parties turn up at the Singapore People’s Party’s National Day Dinner on Saturday evening at a restaurant in Tanjong Katong Complex. They include Workers’ Party’s Gerald Giam, Glenda Han, and MP-elect for Hougang SMC, Yaw Shin Leong. Singapore Democratic Party was represented by Vincent Wijeysingha and John Tan. About nine Reform Party members turned up as well, including Secretary General Kenneth Jeyaretnam.
Presidential candidate Mr Tan Jee Say also attended the dinner but did not stay throughout.
The dinner concluded with the opposition members reciting the Pledge onstage followed by a song in Hokkien.
