This week Sean and Ben from the Calling it Out Show provide an overview of the upcoming election – key players, important grounds of contest, political manoeuvres – all in sports commentator style.
Said Sean, “We used terms like “major injury to his bank account” (when talking about Chee Soon Juan’s defamation case) and “classic coattail manoeuvre” (referencing how Koh Poh Koon had ditched Punggol for an easier fight under LHL’s GRC of Ang Mo Kio) in order to get the youth interested in the what happens in Singapore’s political battlefield.
Ben added, “The whole sports commentator style was just to parody how insane Singapore’s elections are. We wanted to show people that, just by looking at it in a different light, politics can really be very interesting”.
