LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES — HBO/Max has announced a record-breaking achievement of securing 127 Emmy nominations across 17 original programs for the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

This marks the 21st time in history the HBO brand has topped the list of most Primetime Emmy nominations of any network or platform in a single year.

Leading the nominations is the critically acclaimed series, Succession, which raked in 27 nominations for its final season, the most of any program this year. It has also made Emmy history by receiving three nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

In addition, new entrants to the Emmy nomination pool include the series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us, which earned 24 award nominations, marking the first for any live-action video game adaptation.

The White Lotus dominated the supporting actor/actress categories with an impressive total of nine nominations.

Casey Bloys, Chairman & CEO of HBO & Max Content, expressed his pride at the achievement, “We are incredibly proud of our record-breaking HBO/Max Emmy nominees this year, and are especially honoured to send Succession off having made Emmy history.” He further added, “It is a testament to their unparalleled abilities that our programming has resonated with audiences in such a profound way.”

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, scheduled for 18 September, will honour the best in American prime-time television programming for the period of 1 June 2022, until 31 May 2023. The Creative Arts Emmys are scheduled for 9 and 10 September.

In the individual achievements category, several milestones were achieved. Paris Barclay became the first black director nominated in comedy, drama, and limited series categories for Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Jenna Ortega became the second-youngest nominee for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while Pedro Pascal’s three nominations made him the most-nominated Latino in a year.
