People’s Power Party to contest MacPherson SMC

On Thursday night (25 June), People’s Power Party (PPP) has confirmed its candidacy for MacPherson single member constituency (SMC) in a press statement on its Facebook page.

Goh Meng Seng, founder and secretary-general of PPP, will be contesting.

“At this juncture, we believe what we need for Singapore at this juncture is a Strong Parliament, providing the much needed checks and balances to the ruling People’s Action Party government,” read the statement. 

It continued to say that the current member of parliament for MacPherson SMC, Tin Pei Ling, will “complement (PPP) secretary-general’s strengths which will effectively serve both the residents and the country as a whole.”
