Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed the importer of Waitrose brand pesto products, Waitrose Basil Pesto Green (190g) and Waitrose Pesto Tomato (190g) to recall the product as they were found to contain undeclared allergen (peanut)
on their product labels.
The authority took the step as the European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EU RASFF) issued a recall notification on the product.

The recall is ongoing, noted the agency.
SFA also advised consumers who have purchased the affected products, and who are allergic to peanut, not to consume them.
Consumers may also contact the importer, Cold Storage Singapore (1983) Pte Ltd., at 1800 8918 100 for enquiries and for exchange of products.
