On Tuesday (2 May) night, police announced that the driver of a car exploded in Bukit Batok carpark last week has been arrested.
It stated that the explosion, which ripped apart a silver Nissan hatchback, was the result of an act of mischief as portable butane gas canisters were found at the scene of the explosion at Block 290H, Bukit Batok Street 24.
The man was charged in Court on Saturday (29 April) with the offence of Mischief by Fire under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. He will be remanded to assist in further investigations.
The 32-year-old-man suffered injury and was conveyed to a hospital. He was assisted by passersby scene from a video recorded of the incident.
