Man hurt in a car explosion in multi storey car park at Bukit Batok

A 32-year-old-man suffered injury after a nearby car exploded at Bukit Batok Street on Wednesday (26 Apr).

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) deployed an ambulance and a fire fighter and the man was taken to Singapore General Hospital in conscious condition.
Jason Lim shared the incident to SG Road Vigilante’s Facebook account.
In the five-minute video, the man who suffered from burns was seen crying, and looking distressed while sitting on the floor. He was attended to by passersby.
It was not mentioned whether the car was the victim’s or belonged to someone else. In YouTube video posted by Francis Teo, it was mentioned that a witness at the scene said the man was coming from the other side of the car.
The police said that they were alerted to a loud explosion at 290H, Bukit Batok Street 24, at around 6.28pm. “Portable butane gas canisters were found at the scene,” the police said, “Investigation for the cause of the explosion is still ongoing.”
