More than 10 elderly seen huddling over a kopitiam table celebrating birthday, flouting safe distancing measures

A video was shared on Facebook this afternoon (7 October), showing a group of elderly men and women gathering at a kopitiam table.

More than ten people were spotted in that group, and they were having a birthday celebration.

Not only that a majority of them did not wear face masks, but safe distancing was not practised as well.

All of them were seen huddling at the table to sing the birthday song loudly, gaining attention from other patrons at the kopitiam. One of the witnesses recorded the video at the scene.

All Singapore Stuff, the Facebook page that shared the video described that it could have been an “expensive” birthday celebration if Safe Distancing Ambassadors were there to fine them for flouting safe distancing measures.

It was revealed that the video was submitted to the page by one of its readers, and the intention behind the submission was not known.
