In a statement on Thursday (July 21), the police announced that the murderer related to the murder at Lorong 23 Geylang on July 9 has been arrested.

The victim, Mr Niu-ge, was seen having a confrontation with a man before he finally collapsed. The incident happened at 8 am just a few meters outside a coffee shop “Zi Char”. An eyewitness said that after hitting the victim, the suspect ran toward the direction of Geylang Lorong 21.

The victim suffered a deep cut from the left side of his ear to the top of his head, and a wooden stick was found nearby. At 8.11 the paramedics announced the death of the victim.

The police stated that the man will be charged in court on Friday (July 22). If found guilty, the suspect will face a mandatory death penalty.
