Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be presenting the third instalment of its sequel children ballet, Peter & Blue Go Around the World, from 2 – 5 June 2016.
It will be held at the Singapore Airlines Theatre in Lasalle College of the Arts. Choreographed by artistic director Janek Schergen, this is an hour- long children’s ballet production which brings together the magic of fairy-tale and meaningful morals.

The “Peter & Blue” children’s series has established itself, over the past six years, as some of SDT’s happiest annual performances. The dancers get a big thrill out of the immediate response in performing for young audiences and bringing them into the world inhabited by Peter, his dog, Blue, and cat, Calico, with all their adventures. Young audiences have a unique perspective into the performance arts and it is through this exposure to dance, as an art form, that a pure joy can be witnessed. This year’s “around the world” trip brings Peter and Blue, and all their friends, into a magical world of travel, sight and imagination.

“Experience the joy and pleasure of this performance, which will remain with you long after the moments in the theatre,” said artistic director Janek Schergen in SDT’s announcement of the ballet.
Besides just the performance, the SDT has highlighted a multitude of children’s activities such as meet-the-characters, photo-taking sessions, and balloon sculpting as part of what would be a perfect family outing.
In the ballet, Mr. and Mrs. Strawberry, the guardians of the woodland forest, meet Peter and he tells them about how much he wishes to see the whole world. It is to Peter’s delight that Mr. and Mrs. Strawberry have a magic boat that can take them to anywhere in the world and back in no time at all. Peter takes his dog, Blue, and his cat, Calico along with him on this adventure, where he travels to am array of countries including Japan, France and of course, the United States of America. Through his adventure around the world, Peter experiences being on a plane, boat, train, bicycle, and so much more.
