Various political parties have been out and about last weekend following the Electoral Boundary Review Committee report published last week.

WP Joo Chiat 260715

The Workers’ Party was at Joo Chiat, where secretary-general Mr Low Thia Khiang addressed the media to speak about where WP will be contesting.

“As a matter of principle, The Workers’ Party will contest where we have contested before,” said Mr Low. “In this case, Joo Chiat is being redrawn into Marine Parade. We don’t want to disappoint voters in Joo Chiat. We want to offer them a choice again in this election.”

SDP Bukit Batok 260715

The Singapore Democratic Party was out visiting Bukit Batok Central. SDP also expressed unhappiness about what happened to the redrawn electoral boundaries.

“PAP is doing to Joo Chiat SMC what it did to Bukit Batok SMC,” the party posted on its Facebook page. “The SDP came close to winning Bt Batok in 1991: we polled 48.2% of the votes, losing out to the PAP’s candidate by only 858 votes. Thereafter, the single-seat ward was re-drawn into a GRC without any explanation. Today, also without any explanation, it has become an SMC again. This craziness must stop.”

SPP Whampoa 260715

The Singapore People’s Party visited Whampoa Drive, where they met up with residents from neighbouring Potong Pasir SMC and Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC having their breakfast.

SingFirst Tampines 260715

The Singaporeans First Party conducted a Walkabout on Sunday morning at the vicinity of Block 826 and Block 201 of Tampines GRC.
