With the rise in complaints of flaws and defects in Singapore flats, condominiums and malls recently, an old man who is unhappy with the condition of his own condominium decided to make a music video to highlight the problem.

In May this year, some 500 residents of the 800-unit Trivelis development in the area had to contend with shattered shower glass panels and narrow common corridors that are prone to flooding after they received their keys to the new flats in January.

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is said to be “closely monitoring the progress” of discussions between itself and the developer of Pasir Ris ONE, the Design, Build and Sell Scheme flats in eastern Singapore. The development has been criticised for defects and bad design since The Online Citizen (TOC) reported the case on Monday.

Most recently, Education Minister Heng Swee Keat is said to be part of a special taskforce formed to look into the complaints of residents living in the Centrale 8 Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) estate in Tampines after a group of residents had sent a petition to Members of Parliament (MPs) from Tampines GRC about the recurring defects found in their homes.
Lyrics of the song (Sing to the tune of London Bridge Is Falling Down):

See the buildings crumbling down.
Crumbling down, crumbling down.
See the buildings crumbling down.
In Lion City.
Look what happened in Mumbai.
In Mumbai, In Mumbai.
Look what happened in Mumbai.
In Lion City.
Build them cheap and sell them quick.
Sell them quick, sell them quick.
Build them cheap and sell them quick.
In Lion City.
Cracks on walls, glass panels too.
Panels too, panels too.
Cracks on walls, glass panels too.
In Lion City.
Falling roofs and leaking pipes.
Leaking pipes, leaking pipes.
Falling roofs and leaking pipes.
In Lion City.
Stop our buildings crumbling down.
Crumbling down, crumbling down.
Stop our buildings crumbling down.
In Lion City.
