As of Friday noon (11 Sep), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed an additional 87 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of infection cases to 57,316.

Amongst the new cases today, 85 are asymptomatic, and were detected from the screening and surveillance, while 1 was symptomatic.

There are no new cases in the community today.

However, there are 14 imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

According to the MOH, among the 73 cases residing in dormitories today, 33 are from Avery Lodge Dormitory, the majority of whom had been placed on quarantine earlier and were tested during quarantine to determine their status. The remaining cases were detected through surveillance testing.

Of the new cases, 86% are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

One new cluster identified

  1. Two of the newly confirmed cases are linked to three previous cases to form a new cluster at SCM Tuas Lodge (80 Tuas South Boulevard).

Update on condition of confirmed cases

49 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 56,607 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 49 confirmed cases who are still in the hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit. 632 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
