GE2025 Results: PM Wong’s team retains Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC with 73.46% of the votes

PM Lawrence Wong’s PAP team retained Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC with 73.46% of the vote, defeating SDP’s slate, which secured 26.54%. PAP’s tally rose from 63.18% in 2020. Wong, in his first election as PM, thanked voters for their “strong mandate” and pledged to work even harder for the residents.

SINGAPORE: On 4 May 2025, Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC was officially called for the People’s Action Party (PAP), which secured 73.46% of the votes against the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP). Prime Minister Lawrence Wong led his PAP team in the ward in his first election as prime minister, marking a significant improvement from 2020, when PAP defeated SDP with 63.18% of the votes, and from 2015’s 68.73%. The PAP’s Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC slate remains unchanged from 2020, comprising Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower Zaqy Mohamad, North West District Mayor Alex Yam, and Ms Hany Soh. The SDP team featured party organising secretary Jufri Salim, theatre director Alec Tok, Wake Up Singapore founder Ariffin Sha, and Dr Gigene Wong, who collectively garnered 26.54% of the vote. A total of 110,110 valid votes were cast, with PAP receiving 80,822 votes and SDP 29,288. Rejected votes totalled 1,664. Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, formed in 2015, saw its boundaries unchanged in the latest review and now has 119,559 registered voters, up from 117,077 in 2020. In his acceptance speech at Yio Chu Kang Stadium, PM Wong, 52, thanked voters for their strong mandate, pledging to “honour the trust” by working even harder for residents.
