Home appliance megastore Courts will be opening its new flagship store at The Heeren in the first quarter of next year, slated to be its largest outlet in Singapore, the company announced on Thursday (14 January).

The Straits Times reported that the wholly-owned subsidiary of Nojima Corporation will occupy all six storeys of The Heeren’s retail space, replacing Robinsons which had vacated the space last December.

Robinsons had also closed down its outlet at Raffles City on 9 January.

“We are looking forward to expanding our presence in Orchard Road to where it all began and raise the bar further in offering Singaporeans innovative and experiential retail experiences while shopping for electronics and home furnishings,” said Courts Singapore chief executive Hoang Duc Thanh Matthew in a statement.

Courts launched its first store in the city-state’s Orchard Road in 1974.

Mr Hoang hinted the new flagship store will have Japanese standards of customer experience as its key differentiating factor.

He added that the company has seen “a strong recovery” for its products amid the business disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With our upcoming flagship store, we are excited to do our part for the overall retail sector by bringing back the energy and vibrancy of a delightful customer experience,” he told The Edge.
