Eligible Singaporeans will be receiving cash payouts under the Unity and Resilience Budgets’ Care and Support Package starting 18 June, said the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

In a statement on Thursday (4 June), MOF said that the Government will disburse S$900, S$600, or S$300 depending on the relevant individual’s Assessable Income (AI) for the Year of Assessment (YA) 2019.

“Of this amount, $300 was paid in April 2020, as part of the $600 Solidarity Payment … The remaining amount will be paid from 18 June 2020,” said the Ministry.

Parents with at least one Singaporean child aged 20 and below in 2020 will each receive an extra S$300.

Singaporeans aged 50 and above in 2020 will each receive an extra S$100 cash in lieu of the earlier announced PAssion Card top-up, said MOF, citing the need for safe distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cash payouts will be made via PayNow (NRIC) “to enable citizens to receive government payouts via direct bank crediting in a fast and convenient manner”, according to MOF.

The Ministry reminded Singaporeans who have yet to register their NRIC with PayNow to do so via their bank’s mobile banking application or Internet banking platform by 11 June.

Citizens who do not have PayNow linked to their NRIC by 11 June but have previously provided their bank account details for receiving government payouts — such as the Solidarity Payment — will receive the cash payout via direct bank credit. Those receiving their payout via this method may update their bank account details for receiving government payouts here by 17 June 2020.

“The rest will receive the Care and Support – Cash in stages via cheque,” said MOF.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who is also Finance Minister, in a Facebook post today said that under the Care and Support Package, eligible Singaporeans “can receive up to an additional $1,000”.

“Including the $1.6 billion to be paid out in June, we would have disbursed a total of $3.5 billion to households,” he said.

Noting that some Singaporeans have donated money received through the Solidarity Payment, Mr Heng encouraged citizens to “consider doing likewise for this cash payout to a good cause at Giving.sg“.

Singaporeans eligible for the Care and Support Package cash payouts can view the amount that they will be receiving or submit their queries here. Individuals may also call 1800-2222-888 for more information.
