A 32-year-old woman who was filmed driving a black Mercedes-Benz against the flow of traffic in Chinatown last Friday night (6 Sep) has been arrested by the police for “dangerous driving”.
Her driving license was also suspended upon being taken into custody.
Videos of her misconduct took social media by storm over the weekend. One video posted by Facebook user Joseph Jee on SG Road Vigilante Facebook page on Sunday (8 Sep) shows the woman stepping out of the car and cussing at the passers-by in Hokkien.
She can also be seen attempting to hit a passer-by, who seemed to be trying to stop her from performing any reckless action as her car had already mounted the pavement.
According to the police, they were alerted to a case of dangerous driving on Friday night at 10.24pm, along Upper Cross Street towards South Bridge Road.
No injuries were reported from the incident. Further police investigations are ongoing.
