GE2025 Results: PAP team led by Chan Chun Sing retains Tanjong Pagar GRC with 81.03% of vote
PAP retained Tanjong Pagar GRC with 81.03% of the vote, defeating PAR’s 18.97%. PAP’s margin grew from 63.10% in 2020, reaffirming Tanjong Pagar’s status as a party stronghold.

SINGAPORE: On 4 May 2025, Tanjong Pagar GRC was officially called for the People’s Action Party (PAP), which won 81.03% of the vote, a commanding victory over the People’s Alliance for Reform (PAR), which secured 18.97%. The PAP team, led by Education Minister Chan Chun Sing, garnered 98,152 votes, while PAR received 22,971. A total of 121,123 valid votes were cast, with 3,651 ballots rejected. Tanjong Pagar GRC has 139,688 registered electors. The PAP slate included Chan Chun Sing, Alvin Tan, Joan Pereira, Rachel Ong, and newcomer Foo Cexiang. The PAR team comprised Prabu Ramachandran, Han Hui Hui, Nadarajan Selvamani, Rickson Giauw, and Soh Lian Chye. PAR is an alliance of the People’s Voice, Reform Party, and Democratic Progressive Party. Tanjong Pagar remains a PAP stronghold, with the party improving on its 2020 result of 63.13% against the Progress Singapore Party (PSP). This was only the third time the five-member GRC was contested. Despite not holding any rallies, PAP leaned on its longstanding track record in the constituency, historically linked to founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
