In the past few weeks, Singaporeans have been spoilt and indulged like crazy. A wide array of promises and pledges have been given by the People’s Action Party (PAP), many of them related to jobs and livelihoods.

Here are 10 promises and pledges that ought to give every Singaporean heart and hope, unless you have reason to think they are only surfacing because the 2020 General Election is looming.

1) “Our society will emerge stronger, leaving no one to walk this journey alone.” – DPM Heng Swee Keat

2) “The effort to grow our economy is not just to create jobs, but to create better jobs for Singaporeans.” – DPM Heng

3) “We will take care of every Singaporean.” – Minister Chan Chun Sing

4) “We will work hard to make sure everyone who wants a job can get a job.” – Minister Chan

5) “We will create a hundred thousand jobs and training opportunities in the next year.” – Minister Chan

6) “No one will be left behind.” – PM Lee Hsien Loong

7) “We will not be able to save every job. But we will look after every worker.” – PM Lee
