Woodlands double murder suspect to be remanded another three weeks for psychiatric evaluation

A 41-year-old former property agent who was charged for killing his pregnant wife and daughter in their Woodlands flat will be further remanded for three weeks for psychiatric evaluation at the Changi Prison Complex Medical Centre.
Prosecutors requested for Teo Ghim Heng to be remanded for psychiatric evaluation to ascertain if he could appreciate the gravity of his alleged offence.
Teo, who was also known as Zhang Jinxing, was charged via videolink with murdering his wife, Madam Choong Pei Shan, on 30 January.
The 39-year-old woman, who was six months pregnant, and 4-year-old girl were found laying motionless on their bed in their bedroom on a sixth floor unit at Woodlands Drive 52, Block 619 by the Police. They were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at around 7pm.
Court paper revealed that that they were both killed on 20 January between 8am and 11am, but was only found eight days later on the first day of Chinese New Year.
Teo will appear in court again on 6 March.
If convicted of murder, he faces the death penalty.
