Gas tariff for households to be increased by 4.5 percent starting from 1 February

City Gas Pte Ltd, as Trustee of City Gas Trust, has announced on Tuesday (31 January) that the gas tariff for households will increase by 4.5 percent or 0.76 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), from 16.85 cents per kWh to 17.61 cents per kWh for the period 1 February 2017 to 30 April 2017.
It noted that this is mainly due to a 20.8 percent increase in fuel costs compared with the previous quarter. City Gas reviews the gas tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator.
