Singapore’s 15th Parliament opens with re-election of Speaker Seah Kian Peng
Singapore’s 15th Parliament opened on 5 Sept with the swearing-in of 97 elected MPs and two NCMPs, marking the largest House in the nation’s history. Re-elected Speaker Seah Kian Peng urged members to uphold decorum, avoid playing to the gallery, and focus on serving Singapore with integrity.

Singapore’s 15th Parliament was inaugurated on 5 Sept 2025 with the election of the Speaker and the swearing-in of all 97 elected Members of Parliament (MPs) alongside two Non-Constituency MPs (NCMPs). The occasion came nearly five months after the dissolution of the 14th Parliament on 15 Apr ahead of this year’s General Election.
