The People’s Action Party (PAP) has secured West Coast-Jurong West GRC with 60.01% of votes in GE2025. The result was confirmed on 4 May 2025, with PAP winning 88,347 votes and the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) securing 58,863. A total of 147,210 votes were cast, with 1,437 votes rejected. The PAP team was led by National Development Minister Desmond Lee, facing a challenge from PSP’s team helmed by chairman Tan Cheng Bock. This contest drew attention due to PSP’s near-win in 2020, when it lost West Coast GRC by a narrow margin. In 2020, PAP retained West Coast GRC with 51.69% of votes, while PSP secured two NCMP seats. PSP’s 39.99% this year means the party will lose its NCMP seats, previously held by Leong Mun Wai and Hazel Poa. This GRC was newly formed after electoral boundary changes that absorbed parts of the old Jurong GRC and West Coast GRC. The electorate has increased to 158,581 voters. The PAP team also included Shawn Huang, Ang Wei Neng, Cassandra Lee and Hamid Razak. PSP’s team featured Tan Cheng Bock, Leong Mun Wai, Hazel Poa, Sani Ismail and Sumarleki Amjah. Desmond Lee thanked voters and praised PSP for a robust contest in his post-result speech.
