SINGAPORE: On 3 May 2025, Punggol GRC was officially called for the People’s Action Party’s four-member team led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, which secured 55.17% of the vote.

The PAP team defeated the Workers' Party slate, which garnered 44.83%.

The PAP line-up comprised DPM Gan and returning MPs Janil Puthucheary, Sun Xueling, and Yeo Wan Ling—forming a team of experienced candidates.

The WP fielded four new faces: senior counsel Harpreet Singh, Jackson Au, Siti Alia Abdul Rahim Mattar, and Alexis Dang.

PAP received 63,589 votes, while WP obtained 51,663.

Punggol estates, formerly divided across various wards, were merged with Punggol West SMC to create this new four-member GRC.

Remaining areas, including Loyang and Flora estates, became part of the new Pasir Ris–Changi GRC.

Punggol GRC, with 123,557 electors, is Singapore’s youngest town, with over half of voters estimated to be aged 21 to 45.

In 2020, PAP won 64.16% of the vote in Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC in a three-way fight against Peoples Voice and the Singapore Democratic Alliance.
