Singaporean households will receive S$500 in Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers from 13 May 2025. This was announced as part of the Assurance Package under Budget 2025.

The vouchers will be distributed equally—S$250 for spending at participating hawkers and heartland merchants, and S$250 for use at participating supermarkets.

This financial support measure aims to help households cope with ongoing cost-of-living pressures. The initiative follows a previous disbursement of S$300 in CDC vouchers to households in January 2025.

In addition to the May distribution, another S$300 in vouchers will be given in January 2026. Altogether, Singaporean households will receive a total of S$800 in CDC vouchers during the 2025 financial year.

The tranche issued on 13 May will be valid until 31 December 2025, while the January 2026 batch will expire on 31 December 2026.

The CDC voucher scheme was announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during his Budget speech in February 2025. It forms part of ongoing efforts to ease inflationary pressures for residents.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the scheme will cost the government S$1.06 billion this financial year.

In a Facebook post dated 15 April 2025, Senior Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling shared that more than 1.28 million Singaporean households had claimed the January tranche.

She noted that close to S$300 million worth of vouchers had already been utilised. Of this amount, over S$142 million was spent at participating hawkers and heartland merchants, while more than S$157 million was used at supermarkets.

Further details on how to claim the May tranche of vouchers will be released in due course.

The CDC voucher scheme has featured in several past Budgets and remains a key measure to provide households with tangible financial support for everyday needs.
