The Workers’ Party (WP) chief and Leader of the Opposition (LO) Pritam Singh paid a visit to a “coffeeshop kampung” at Block 121 along Bedok Reservoir Road on Wednesday (2 Dec).

In a Facebook post yesterday, Mr Singh shared that a number of regulars frequent the coffeeshop, adding that it was good to “catch up with them and listen to their feedback”.

In one of his table-to-table encounters, he came across a visitor from the Netherlands who had just completed their 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN).

According to Mr Singh, the Dutch visitor plans on staying in Singapore until Chinese New Year “to be with family”.

“But it was especially nice to meet a new resident who resides in the Navian, a relatively newly-built condo in the constituency,” he added.

Mr Singh went on to say that there are many little “coffeeshop kampungs” – like the one he had just visited – throughout Singapore.

He expressed that all of them are “special because of the friendships and acquaintances” that bring forth “a sense of home and familiarity”.

Mr Singh concluded his post saying, “And I am biased of course, but the food (+variety) available here at Blk 121 is excellent too!”
