Following Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s announcement that parliament has been dissolved and Nomination Day for GE2020 is set for 30 June and Polling Day on 10 July, the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) is asking people to come forward as volunteers during the election.
In a Facebook post on both the party’s official Facebook page as well as the Facebook page of party secretary general Dr Tan Cheng Bock, PSP sent out a call for volunteer Polling Agents and Campaign Workers.
The party explained, “The Polling Agents represent the candidates at the Polling Stations to ensure that elections are conducted in a free and fair manner. Campaign workers will help in the distribution of flyers on walkabouts.”
It was also noted that Parliamentary Election Laws permit only Singaporeans to participate in any election activity.
Those interested in volunteering for PSP can do so by signing up here.
Yesterday (23 June), Dr Tan said in a press conference that his party will be concentrating its efforts in wards in the western side of Singapore, confirming that the PSP will be contesting in the West Coast, Chua Chu Kang, and Tanjong Pagar GRCs as well as the Hong Kah North, Marymount, Pioneer, Yio Chu Kang, Kebun Baru SMCs.
