Train delay between Tampines and Pasir Ris (EWL) on Wednesday afternoon

Following the delay in train service along the East West Line (EWL) and North South Line (NSL) on Tuesday yesterday, Singapore Mass Rapid Transport (SMRT)’s service again experienced disruption along EWL in the afternoon today (18 Apr) .

The difference today is SMRT tweeted on the delay today before any passengers complain posted or tweeted, while yesterday’s fault which affected two major Singapore’s train lines didn’t generate any official information from SMRT on its social media platforms.

At 1:54pm SRMT informed that there was a track fault causing 30 minutes additional travel time between Tampines and Pasir Ris, and it repeated the same announcement at 1:57pm:

Several commuters tweeted their comments on the delay:

Again, at 2:06pm SMRT tweeted the same announcement, this time writing that the fault will cause 25 minutes delay:

On TATA SMRT Facebook passengers also informed on the delay:

Wayne Chew 2 hrs:

30 mins delay between Pasir Ris and Tampines due to track fault

John Robert Lee 2h:

Now SUSPENDED between Tampines and Pasir Ris.

At 2:10pm SMRT again posted the same tweet, now mentioning 20 minutes delay; then 4 minutes later it again tweeted, announcing that the train service between Tampines and Pasir Ris was expected to resume in 10 minutes:

Then SMRT tweeted twice at 2:18pm and 2:20pm that train service between Tampines and Pasir Ris had progressively returned to normal:

At 2:24pm SMRT declared that the train service between Tampines and Pasir Ris had resumed:

There were not much complain from commuters when SMRT informed the train delays on social media platforms.
