The Select Committee on Deliberate Online Falsehoods – Causes, Consequences and Countermeasures stated that it will hold public hearings to consider oral evidence presented by experts, industry stakeholders and members of the public on 14-16, 22-23, and 27-29 March 2018 at Parliament’s Public Hearing Room.
The Select Committee stressed that it will decide, as the hearings progress, whether all the dates need to be used, noting that the hearings will be open to members of the public and the media.
It added that those interested to make written representations to the Select Committee have until 7 March 2018, 4.30 pm to do so. More information on the written representations, as well as the individuals and organisations who will be giving oral evidence at the public hearings, will be made available after the Select Committee meets again on 9 March 2018.
The committee previously stated that as at 4.30 pm on 27 February 2018, a total of 62 written representations were received.
