SAF regular serviceman dies after losing consciousness while having own physical training in Nee Soon Camp

Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) has announced a death of Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman on Monday (20 February) evening.
The Ministry said that the serviceman lost consciousness while having his own physical training in Nee Soon Camp on 20 Feb 2017 at 8.05am.
“Resuscitative efforts were administered immediately,” it said.
The serviceman was then evacuated to Nee Soon Camp Medical Centre, and subsequently to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) via an SAF ambulance.
MINDEF said that an SAF Medical Officer and medics continued to resuscitate him en route. The SAF ambulance arrived at KTPH at 8.37am.
Unfortunately, the serviceman was pronounced dead at 9.02am.
The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman. The SAF is assisting the family in their time of grief.
