A Toyota Corolla Axio crashed into a preschool, My First Skool, at Block 676 Hougang Avenue 8 on Sunday (22 January) afternoon.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to the incident at about 12.50pm and dispatched one ambulance to the scene. However, the 52-year-old driver refused to be taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, no one was injured as the premise, which caters to children from the kindergarten levels, was empty during the weekend. The school said that it had contacted parents of the children within two hours after the incident.
It also said that the rectification works at the preschool is expected to take three to four weeks to complete.
Therefore, in the meantime, children will be housed temporarily at a nearby My First Skool located in Rivervale Crescent and that their transportation arrangements will be provided.
The Police also confirmed the incident and said that investigations are ongoing.
One of the resident, Rao Jun, wrote on her Facebook account that the driver beat the wrong stall and hit the wall of the school.
She also said that it was a good thing that the accident happened on Sunday. If it was during school day then it might be a fatal accident. She noted that this was the second time and she hopes that the school will install railings as a safety measure.

This is not the first of such incident during this week. Last Thursday (19 January), one taxi from ComfortDelGro was seen to be stuck on a parapet of a walkway of a carpark in Jurong West Street 81 between blocks 816 and 817.
