One taxi from ComfortDelGro was seen to be stuck on a parapet of a walkway of a carpark in Jurong West Street 81 between blocks 816 and 817 on early Thursday (19 January) morning.
A resident told The Straits Times that the walkway was popular during the weekends with bird-lovers showing off their song birds. Fortunately, no one was injured due to the incident.
It is understood that the taxi driver mistakenly slammed on the accelerator when reversing at the carpark. He then hit the walkway with a loud bang.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at at about 8.10am. It then dispatched one ambulance to the scene. However, its assistance was later not required.
Ms Tammy Tan, ComfortDelGro’s group corporate Communications officer, said that it is relieved that members of the public were not injured by this incident.
“We are in touch with our cabby, and we will assist the police in their investigations,” she added.
