Man stabbed in Yishun in front of children; case allegedly linked to relationship dispute

SINGAPORE: A 29-year-old man was stabbed outside Block 467B Yishun Avenue 6 on the evening of 13 June 2025, reportedly in front of his two young children. According to local media Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred around 7.50pm. The man, although injured, managed to bring his children back home before seeking help. A neighbour who declined to be named said she ran out upon hearing of the incident and found the victim in bloodstained clothes. She applied pressure to the wound using her hands in an attempt to stop the bleeding while others called for an ambulance. She also shared that the man broke into a cold sweat and seemed to be going into shock, though he only said that he was in pain. Photos she shared showed blood-soaked towels on the ground, which were later cleaned by cleaners.

Stabbing believed to be linked to relationship dispute

The same neighbour clarified that the incident was not random. She believed the stabbing stemmed from a relationship dispute, dispelling initial speculation among some residents. Another resident, 78, said he did not hear any disturbances before the incident. He mentioned that his windows are always open, so he would have heard if anything unusual had occurred. A 72-year-old resident, identified only as Madam Chen, said her daughter-in-law saw a knife lodged in the man's abdomen. After the police arrived, they reportedly began searching the area thoroughly. A 45-year-old resident named Li recounted seeing eight or nine officers with evidence markers and flashlights when he returned around 8pm. He added that officers advised him to use another route to enter the block. A 40-year-old resident from nearby Block 478C, named Zhang, reported seeing armed officers walking in the area around 10pm. Li further observed that officers remained at the scene until midnight, though the area was eventually unsealed. In response to media queries, the Singapore Police Force stated they received a call for assistance at about 7.50pm. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said the injured man was conscious when conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Investigations are currently ongoing.
