SINGAPORE: A video showing footage taken from MRT tracks between Simei and Tanah Merah stations surfaced online on 10 June.

The 22-second clip, shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page, appeared to be filmed in low-light conditions.

The video captures a train passing on a nearby track. Later, the camera moves closer, crossing over the track area.

It is unclear when the video was recorded.

On 11 June 2025, SMRT confirmed it was aware of the video.

“The footage was captured in an area with ongoing viaduct construction,” said SMRT Trains president Lam Sheau Kai.

He stressed that trespassing on tracks poses serious safety hazards.

Lam added the incident has been reported to the police and investigations are in progress.

The police confirmed on 11 June that a report was filed and they are currently looking into the matter.
