GE2025 Results: WP retains Sengkang GRC with 56.31% of the vote

WP secured Sengkang GRC with 56.31% of the vote on 3 May, improving its margin from 2020’s 52.12%. The team of He Ting Ru, Jamus Lim, Louis Chua, and Abdul Muhaimin defeated PAP’s refreshed slate led by Lam Pin Min, which polled 43.69%. He Ting Ru reaffirmed WP’s commitment to all residents.

SINGAPORE: On 3 May 2025, the Workers’ Party (WP) strengthened its hold over Sengkang GRC, securing 56.31% of the vote against the People’s Action Party (PAP)—a wider margin than in 2020.

Incumbent MPs He Ting Ru, 41; Jamus Lim, 49; Louis Chua, 37; and newcomer Abdul Muhaimin, 36, received 66,383 votes out of 117,888 valid ballots.

They defeated a refreshed PAP team led by eye doctor Lam Pin Min, 55, which garnered 43.69% (51,505 votes).

The slate also included new candidates Elmie Nekmat, 43; Bernadette Giam, 38; and Theodora Lai, 39.

Total votes cast for the candidates are 117,888. Rejected votes 927.

In 2020, WP won Sengkang with 52.12% of the vote, narrowly defeating PAP’s 47.88%. The constituency has 126,641 registered voters.

After the win, He Ting Ru said: “To the residents of Sengkang—as we promised five years ago when you first took a leap of faith in us—our commitment to all of you remains unchanged.”
