GE2025 Results: PAP secures Jalan Besar GRC with 75.21% of votes

The PAP team led by Josephine Teo won Jalan Besar GRC with 75.21% of votes, defeating the People’s Alliance for Reform (PAR) in GE2025.

SINGAPORE: On 4 May 2025, Jalan Besar GRC was officially called for the People’s Action Party (PAP), which won 75.21% of the votes against the People’s Alliance for Reform (PAR).

PAP garnered 70,345 votes, while PAR received 23,186. A total of 93,531 votes were cast, with 3,331 rejected. The GRC has 106,342 electors.

The PAP team, led by Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, includes incumbents Denise Phua and Wan Rizal Wan Zakariah, along with newcomer Shawn Loh, a former director at the Ministry of Finance and now deputy group managing director at Commonwealth Capital Group.

PAR’s team was led by Vigneswari V Ramachandran, Sarina Abu Hassan, Mohamad Hamim Aliyas, and Chiu Shin Kong.

PAR is an alliance of three parties: Peoples Voice, Reform Party, and Democratic Progressive Party.

In 2020, PAP won Jalan Besar GRC with 65.37% of the vote, defeating a People’s Voice team led by Lim Tean.
