Singapore Changi Airport named World’s Best Airport 2025 for record 13th time

Singapore Changi Airport has been crowned the World’s Best Airport for 2025 at the World Airport Awards in Madrid, marking a record 13th win. It also earned accolades for dining, washrooms and as Best Airport in Asia.

Singapore Changi Airport has once again secured the top spot at the World Airport Awards, being named the World’s Best Airport 2025. The prestigious accolade was announced on 9 April 2025 during the Passenger Terminal EXPO held in Madrid.

This marks the thirteenth time in the history of the Skytrax awards that Changi Airport has received this top honour, cementing its status as a global leader in airport excellence.

In addition to the overall title, Singapore Changi Airport also received three other major distinctions: World’s Best Airport Dining, World’s Best Airport Washrooms, and Best Airport in Asia, according to Skytrax, the UK-based aviation ranking organisation.

Mr Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airport Group, expressed his gratitude, stating: “Changi Airport is honoured to be named by Skytrax as the World’s Best Airport for the 13th time. It is indeed gratifying to receive this recognition, and this certainly encourages us to continue to strive to provide the best travel experience.”

He credited the win to the Changi Airport community’s unwavering dedication to service excellence and thanked passengers for their continued support.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted commended Changi Airport’s enduring standards, stating: “It is a great achievement for Singapore Changi Airport to receive the highest award as the World’s Best Airport 2025… The diversity and expansive choice of dining outlets is also recognised with Changi Airport winning the award for the World’s Best Airport Dining.”

The newly introduced World’s Best Airport Washrooms award was also given to Changi, with Plaisted noting that washroom quality is a “major driver of customer satisfaction.”

In the global rankings, Changi was followed by Hamad International Airport in Doha at second place, and Tokyo Haneda Airport in third. The top 5 was rounded out by Incheon International Airport and Narita International Airport.

Among other standout winners, Tokyo Haneda was recognised for having the World’s Cleanest Airport, World’s Best Domestic Airport, and for Best PRM & Accessible Facilities. Meanwhile, Hamad International Airport claimed titles for World’s Best Airport Shopping and Best Airport in the Middle East.

Skytrax also provided a breakdown by passenger traffic category. Changi Airport led the 60 to 70 million passenger bracket, while Tokyo Haneda dominated the 70+ million category. Doha’s Hamad ranked highest among airports handling 50 to 60 million passengers.

Additional honours went to airports around the globe. Paris Charles de Gaulle was named Best Airport in Europe for the third consecutive year, while Copenhagen Airport took home the Best Airport Security Processing award.

Rome Fiumicino Airport was recognised as Best Airport in Southern Europe, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport as Best in Northern Europe, and Budapest Airport once again earned the title of Best Airport in Eastern Europe.

Asia also saw further representation with Chubu Centrair International Airport winning Best Regional Airport, and Taiwan Taoyuan Airport claiming the Best Airport Baggage Delivery award.

In the realm of hospitality, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport continued its dominance by winning World’s Best Airport Hotel and Best in Asia, while TWA Hotel at JFK New York earned Best Airport Hotel in North America.

Regionally, Delhi International Airport retained its position as Best Airport in India & South Asia, with Hyderabad Airport being recognised for Best Staff Service in the region.

The awards also honoured innovation and improvement, with Berlin Brandenburg Airport receiving the title of World’s Most Improved Airport, and Istanbul Airport recognised as the World’s Most Family Friendly Airport.

The World Airport Awards, organised by Skytrax, are based on global airport customer satisfaction surveys that assess services and facilities across over 550 airports worldwide.
