Man caught on CCTV taking and returning lingerie in Choa Chu Kang, police investigating
A man was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing lingerie from a Choa Chu Kang flat and returning it after realising he was filmed. The woman, whose garments were tampered with, shared the footage online. Police are investigating the case.

SINGAPORE: The police have been alerted after a man was caught on CCTV allegedly taking lingerie from outside a flat in Choa Chu Kang before returning the items shortly afterwards.
The incident came to light when a resident, Elyvi Lim, noticed a recurring pattern of her lingerie going missing and then being returned.
Suspicious of the behaviour, she decided to install a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera to monitor the area.
Footage from the CCTV, recorded on 31 January at around 9:34 am, captured a bespectacled man in a grey T-shirt and black trousers walking past her flat.
He stopped at the laundry area where the woman had hung her clothes, taking time to select an item.
He was seen reaching towards his trousers’ zipper before swiftly tucking the lingerie inside and walking away.
As he passed the CCTV camera, he seemed to realise he had been caught on video.
He hesitated, then turned back towards the laundry rack with his head lowered.
The footage showed him retrieving the lingerie from his trousers and placing it back where he had taken it.
Even after returning the item, he continued looking back at the camera before finally leaving the scene.
The woman, who described the man as a “pervert,” said this was not the first time such an incident had occurred, which led her to install the camera.
She uploaded the videos and photos to Facebook in an effort to alert residents and identify the individual.
She also noted that the man had been spotted in the Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee areas, particularly near blocks numbered 600 and above.
She urged anyone with information to come forward and contact her.
Residents Share Similar Encounters
Several netizens shared their encounters with similar incidents under the post.
One user mentioned that they also lived in the Yew Tee 600+ area and had experienced undergarments, particularly female underwear, going missing, only to be neatly returned the next day.
Upon checking one of the returned items, they discovered it was stained with semen.
Describing the experience as “gross as hell,” they said they lodged a police report, but no action was taken.
As a result, they purchased a dryer and stopped hanging undergarments outside, calling the ordeal traumatic.
Another user shared that they had chased a man down their block at 602 Yishun Street 61 the previous week.
The individual had allegedly dropped their sister’s lingerie before fleeing down the stairs.
They warned that such perverts could be found everywhere.
A separate user noted that the man in the footage looked familiar.
They recalled seeing someone behaving oddly around Bukit Panjang Plaza and believed he resembled the person in the video.
The individual had once entered their shop, looking around suspiciously.
When approached by the shop owner, he responded with, “I don’t think you can [help me].”
While they could not confirm if it was the same person, they described him as having a strange personality and suggested making a police report.
Many commenters urged the woman to report the matter to the authorities.
One suggested filing a police report, not only to take action but also to ensure the suspect receives mental health support if necessary.
They mentioned that the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) could intervene if needed.
Another user recommended reporting the incident to the town council so that legal action could be taken, noting that the man was likely a resident of the neighbourhood.
Others expressed concern, with one user stating that they hoped the neighbours had been informed.
They also cited this as one of the reasons they refrained from hanging clothes along the corridor, calling the situation disturbing.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that a report had been lodged regarding the incident.
A 27-year-old man is currently assisting with investigations into a case of dishonest misappropriation of property, SPF said.
