SINGAPORE: In November 2024, approximately 1.2 million past and present national servicemen (NSmen) will receive S$200 in LifeSG credits, recognising their vital contributions to Singapore’s defence and security.
As announced during the 2024 Budget, the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will progressively disburse the S$200 LifeSG credits.
According to a joint statement issued by MINDEF and MHA, eligible NSmen will automatically receive the credits via the LifeSG app by 30 November 2024.
The credits will remain valid for one year from the date of disbursement.
NSmen can access their credits and check their validity through the LifeSG app, which is available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
These credits can be utilised at any online or physical merchant that accepts payments via PayNow UEN or NETS QR.
Eligibility for the credits extends to all operationally ready NSmen and full-time national servicemen (NSFs), including those NSFs who enlist by 31 December 2024.
NSFs enlisting after 15 September 2024 will receive their credits in December 2024.
Once the credits are disbursed, an SMS notification will be sent from the gov.sg Sender ID to the registered mobile number of the national serviceman, along with a notification letter sent to their registered address.
Importantly, national servicemen are advised that there is no need to click on any links or provide personal details on any platform.
For a step-by-step guide on how to use the credits, individuals can visit wallet.gov.sg/how-to-use.
