Fire at Admiralty Drive: One person rescued, fifty evacuated
A fire at Block 469 Admiralty Drive was swiftly extinguished by firefighters, who rescued one person from a smoke-filled unit. About 50 residents were evacuated as a precaution. The rescued individual was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to Singapore General Hospital.

A fire broke out at Block 469 Admiralty Drive this afternoon, prompting a swift response from firefighters. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) reported that the fire, which occurred in a fourth-floor unit, was confined to the kitchen but resulted in smoke and heat damage to the living room. The incident was reported at around 2:35 pm, with firefighters from Yishun Fire Station, supported by their counterparts from Woodlands Fire Station, arriving promptly at the scene. Upon arrival, the firefighters entered the smoke-filled unit to conduct the firefighting operation, successfully extinguishing the fire with a water jet. During their operations, firefighters discovered a person in one of the bedrooms. The individual was quickly rescued from the unit and assessed for smoke inhalation before being conveyed to Singapore General Hospital for further medical treatment. In addition to the immediate response to the fire, approximately 50 residents from the affected block were evacuated as a precautionary measure by the Singapore Police Force. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities.
