A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday (29 Mar) at around 11 am at Block 166 Hougang Avenue 1, where an infant was found dead at the bottom of an HDB block.

An 18-year-old woman is currently assisting the police in their investigation.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, upon arrival at the scene, the police cordoned off a large area and many officers were present in front of the unit on the second floor where the incident occurred.

A blue tent was also set up where the body was found.

The large-scale investigation has sparked discussions among residents.

The police stated that they received a report of a non-natural death at around 11.32 am on Wednesday, indicating that a body was found downstairs in the HDB block.

At around 11 am on Wednesday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also received a call for assistance. Upon their arrival at the scene, they found a baby at the foot of the block who was pronounced dead by a paramedic.

Another person was conveyed to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital by SCDF.
